This Alden Monk Strap is expertly created by a master craftsman with durable, luxurious Shell Cordovan on the Aberdeen Last.  In Black Shell Cordovan, this Plain Toe Monk Strap is tanned with a traditional, pure vegetable tanning process and is hand finished.  This process takes a full six months to complete in the single tannery still producing genuine shell cordovan today. The resulting leather is soft, supple, and made to last.  Oak tanned leather bends are cut into the outsoles for maximum quality crafted with not only good looks, but also the integrity of a fine shoe maker. 

Each Alden New England shoe offers breathable comfort that lasts all day long. A layer of cork underneath the insole provides both insulation and resilience. As time goes on, the shoe will assume the contours of your foot, providing an excellent fit that feels like it was custom-tailored to you. A tempered steel shank is expertly contoured within each shoe and triple ribbed for extra strength.
